The tickets for the Tokyo International Film Festival will be on sale on TIFF Official Website from Oct. 15 (Sat), following the lottery sales for mail magazine members and the pre-order lottery ticket sales.

Tickets will be also available at the TIFF Ticket Center in front of Yurakucho Station during the film festival.

35th Tokyo International Film Festival is committed to carrying out infection prevention measures based on the guidelines set by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government and the Japan Association of Theatre Owners. We will take every measure to help prevent the spread of COVID-19 and to secure the safety of press members, as well as audiences. Under these circumstances, procedures for covering the events will differ from previous years, and we greatly appreciate your kind cooperation and understanding on this matter.


In order to have as many people as possible to enjoy the films at the Tokyo International Film Festival, the following measures have been formulated in accordance with the Basic Policies for Novel Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19) Control by the government and the latest Guidelines for Preventing the Spread of Novel Coronavirus in theaters by the Japan Associations of Theater Owners.


In order to ensure a safe viewing environment for everyone, we ask for your cooperation regarding the wearing of masks, refraining from conversation and eating inside the theaters.


Purchased tickets cannot be exchanged or refunded under any circumstances. Please be sure to read and acknowledge the following notes prior to purchasing your tickets.


<Before Purchasing Tickets>

The visitors who fall under any of the following categories are kindly requested to refrain from purchasing tickets.


  • - Those who are suspected of being infected by COVID-19 or had close contact with those who are suspected of having COVID-19 infection or those who had close contact with a person diagnosed as positive.
  • - Those who have received a positive test results for COVID-19 infection or who have been instructed to stay at home by a doctor.
  • - Those who have various symptoms of poor physical condition.
  • *Those who have symptoms such as fever of 37.5 ℃ or higher, cough, (dyspnea), strong dullness (malaise), pharynx, taste / smell disorder, diarrhea, vomiting / nausea. Not limited to the mentioned symptoms, those who are not in a good physical condition.
  • - Those who are waiting for the test results of COVID-19 infection.


<Day of the Screening>

Visitors who fall under the following categories will not be allowed to enter the venue. Please note that we will not be able to change or refund tickets in such cases.


  • - Upon your admission, we will perform the temperature measurement with a non-contact thermometer or surface temperature screening with thermography. Depending on the detection result, we will measure the temperature again, and if fever of 37.5 ℃ or more is confirmed, we will refuse the admission.
  • - Please be sure to wear a mask in the theater except when you are drinking. Failure to do so may result in refusal of admission.


<Other Information>
  • - We may provide personal information to public institutions such as health centers in the event of a suspected case of infection occur at any of the venues. Personal information collected will not be used for any purpose other than that for which it was collected and will be stored for one month.
  • - Each venue is equipped with ventilation equipment that can provide the necessary ventilation for the maximum number of people in the theater, and these facilities are operated in accordance with the laws and regulations.
  • - The content of the guidelines may be revised based on the circumstances leading up to the opening of the film festival.
  • - When new information is released by the government or local government, we will be able to provide the information. Please be sure to check this page before visiting the venue.

Pre-order Lottery Sales [Internet]

Tickets for "Fragments of the Last Will" (Opening Film), "Living" (Closing Film), "And So I'm at a Loss" (Gala Selection), "The Banshees of Inisherin" (Gala Selection), and "KAMEN RIDER BLACK SUN" (TIFF Series) will be sold by pre-order lottery on TIFF Official Website. Please apply through the application form on each film page.

Pre-order period
From 12:00pm on Sept. 23rd (Fri) to 23:59 on Sept. 26th (Mon).

Purchase period
From 13:00 on Oct. 3rd (Mon) to 23:59 on Oct. 5th (Wed).

During the purchase period, please access the purchase page from the URL provided in the winning notification email.

*You may choose your seat at the time of purchase.

*In case of failure to settle the payment within the purchase period, the lottery winners will be automatically invalidated.

*You can purchase tickets for Tokyo International Film Festival screenings at Kadokawa Cinema Yurakucho, Cine Switch Ginza, TOHO Cinemas Chanter, TOHO Cinemas Hibiya, Humantrust Cinema Yurakucho, Marunouchi TOEI, Marunouchi Piccadilly, and Yurakucho Yomiuri Hall.
*Please note that tickets will not be sold at the box office of each theater.

*Tickets for the 5 films sold by pre-order lottery will not be available on Oct. 15th (Sat).
*Due to the maintenance, we may stop accepting orders for about 20 minutes prior to each sale.
*Tickets for wheelchair areas will be available for all screenings from 13:00 on Oct. 15th (Sat).

QWhen will tickets go on sale?
A Sales will begin at 10:00 and 13:00 on Oct. 15th (Sat) for each section on TIFF Official Website.
Tickets for wheelchair areas will be available for all screenings from 13:00 on Oct. 15th (Sat).
There will be pre-order lottery sales for some of the films. Pre-order lottery sales will be available from Sept. 30th (Fri) to Oct. 5th (Wed) for the general public.

AThe pre-school children are not admitted except for TIFF-Children screenings of Youth section.

QI am a high school student. Can I watch the midnight screenings?
AIn accordance with the Tokyo Metropolitan Government's Ordinance for the Sound Development of Youth, children under 18 years of age are not allowed to enter the theater between 23:00 and 4:00 the next morning. The same applies when accompanied by a parent or guardian.

AFraudulent acts such as resale of tickets, ticket numbers and QR codes for commercial purposes are strictly prohibited.
If it is discovered that you have purchased a ticket from a source other than TIFF Official Website or TIFF Ticket Center in front of Yurakucho Station, you will be denied admission.
QI cannot display the QR Code because my smartphone or tablet is malfunctioning or out of charge.

[Marunouchi TOEI]

Wheelchair spaces are available. Please make purchases from the Wheelchair Space Sales page.
Due to the structure of the Marunouchi TOEI building, there are two steps (approx. 15-20 cm) at the entrance.
There is a slope, but it is steep in some points. If you need assistance in getting up and down, please feel free to ask the theater staff.
We apologize for the inconvenience, but please use nearby facilities for barrier-free restrooms. For TOEI ①, there are no restrooms in the lobby of the theater floor, so please exit the entrance and take the elevator from the adjacent TOEI COMPANY building.
