Below is the procedure to apply for an Industry Pass for the 35th Tokyo International Film Festival (TIFF), which will be held from October 24 (Mon) to November 2 (Wed), 2022.


TIFF’s Industry Pass is reserved for film industry professionals. If you have never been granted a pass for TIFF, and you belong to one of the professional categories listed below, you may apply here. If your application is approved, you will be granted an Industry Pass which will give you access to Press and Industry screenings (P&I screenings) during the festival.

<Travel Information> In response to the global COVID-19 pandemic, the Japanese Government has enforced boarder measures and restricted visa issuance. All foreign nationals who wish to travel to Japan must obtain a visa before entering the country, except for those with re-entry permits. Please be sure to monitor the latest information on the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan:

Please note that the Tokyo International Film Festival cannot be your “receiving organization.” which is required for a visa application. Please submit your request for accreditation after reading the notes above.

<Industry Pass Benefits> Press & Industry Screenings (P&I screenings)

*No access to regular screenings
*No access to the Opening/Closing ceremonies and screenings
*No access to TIFFCOM 2022 Online

What are Press and Industry Screenings? (P&I Screenings)
・P&I screening are for the press, buyers and authorized TIFF personnel.
・All admission will be non-reserved seats on a first-come-first-served basis.
・Applications will be closed as soon as the number of tickets is reached.
・A pass is required for admission.

<Fee> Free of charge

*This is the first year that TIFF is offering an Industry Pass, so it will be free in 2022, but we plan to charge a fee from next year.

You will be able to apply online by filling in the required fields including your film professional categories and attaching documents to prove your eligibility for the Industry Pass.

After your application is submitted, we will review it and contact you when we are granting the Industry Pass.
We will provide more detailed information at that time.

Please understand that, due to the anticipated volume of requests, we may not be able to respond to further inquiries during the screening process.
